Register Your Pet's Microchip
Transfer your rescue dog's microchip into your name through the 24Petwatch registry. This simple process ensures your contact information is linked to your pet's chip — so if they're ever lost, you can be found.
How Microchip Registration Works
You Submit This Form
Provide your contact details, home address, and the microchip number from your adoption paperwork.
We Initiate the Transfer
Our team processes your request through 24Petwatch within 1–2 business days and initiates the ownership transfer.
You Accept the Transfer
You'll receive a confirmation email from 24Petwatch. Simply click to accept — and registration is complete.
You're Registered
Your contact information is now live in the national registry. Keep it updated if you ever move or change numbers.
Where do I find my pet's microchip number?
It's on your adoption paperwork. It may also be printed on your pet's vaccination record or on a tag from the shelter.
Why does RescueDog.Me stay on the chip as a secondary contact?
This protects your pet. If your contact information ever becomes outdated, we can still be reached as a backup to help reunite you.
Can I update my information later?
Yes. Log in to your 24Petwatch account at any time to update your address, phone number, or email directly.
My dog wasn't spayed/neutered at adoption — why hasn't my transfer started?
Per our Spay & Neuter Agreement, we hold the microchip transfer for dogs adopted unaltered until we receive proof the procedure is complete. Once you submit proof, we'll initiate the transfer right away — see our Spay & Neuter FAQ for details.
